ISLAMABAD, July 14 (APP): Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique Thursday said the government and opposition were in the process of consultation to appoint members of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
July 25 is declared the last date for appointing ECP’s members.
The government and opposition would soon announce the names of members with consensus then the committee would check the partiality and profiles of the nominees, he said in private news channel programme Saad Rafique made it clear that the Prime Minister would not appoint the members, however they would be appointed by the committee consisting of government and opposition. The issue cannot be resolved within one or two days but the process would be completed before deadline.
The minister said the government had prepared proposal for
the appointment of members.
