LAHORE, Oct 31 (APP): Federal Minister for Defence Production & Science and Technology Rana Tanvir Hussain on Monday said the government had the authority to take anybody into custody on doubts of being involved in any unlawfully activity.
He was talking to media here after addressing a seminar on “Standards Build Trust” arranged by the Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) at Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
Rana Tanvir said the government would follow the Supreme Court’s verdict on PTI sit-in in letter and spirit, adding that Imran Khan should shun the policy of “Main Na Manu.”
“The government is duty bound to maintain peace any where in the country and protection of the people, and would not let some people to disturb law and order situation,” he added.
He said that Imran Khan was trying to pressurise important departments including courts, FIA, Police and Anti Corruption and statements of the PTI leaders were on record in this regard.
To a question about Imran Khan’s statement to continue protest till death, Rana Tanvir prayed for his long life.
To another question, he said the government and army were on same page and all the matters were moving in the right direction.
