Govt is committed to complete relief, rehabilitation of affectees

ISLAMABAD, Oct 30 (APP): The Federal and Provincial governments are on
same page till complete relief and rehabilitation of the victims of Khyber
Pakhtunkhaw, Malakand, and Bajour agencies .
Speaking in Radio Pakistan’s program, State Minister for Parliamentary
Affairs Sheikh Aftab said that the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has
directed to take urgent measures including the use of helicopter to drop relief items to the earthquake-affected people stranded at high-altitude mountains added that these are the natural disasters which were not under the control of humans and we have refused to accept any foreign aid and meet these expenses from our own resources.
PML-N Senator Dr. Ghous Muhammad Niazi said that the government has
announced compensation of one lakh to the injured; two lakh for permanently
disabled; five lakh for the families of each dead person; one lakh for people whose houses have been partially damaged and two lakh for those whose houses have been damaged completely.
PML-N Senator Nisar Muhammad said: “It is the blessing of Allah
almighty that the losses were limited as compared to previous earthquake, which struck in October 2005. Shangla, Malakand and Bajaur were the worst affected areas of the country and for them the Prime Minister has announced a compensation package with the consultation of Chief Minister KPK, which was a good move added that Pakistan Army is fully engaged in the relief activities and providing full assistance to the relief and rescue agencies.
