ISLAMABAD, Feb 20 (APP):Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood Wednesday said that the government was introducing technical and professional education at the school level for skills development of the students.
In a meeting held here with the Baroness Sayeeda Hussain Warsi, the minister said that in that regard a Skills University would also be established in the federal capital.
Both the dignitaries also discussed education, skills development and steps being taken by the the government for its promotion in the country.
The minister said that education and skills development was the top priority of the present government. “We are facing different challenges in education sector,” he added.

To resolve these challenges, the government, he said, had formulated a policy which was being implemented and its output would be reaped soon.
“We are working in collaboration with the provinces,” he said adding that a programme was being launched at national level to increase the literacy rate.
He said steps were being taken for restructuring of the ministry and its attached departments to make the institutions more effective.
Sayeeda Warsi appreciated the efforts of government in education and skills development sectors. She suggested the government to make cooperation of Pakistani universities with the foreign higher educational institutions.
She said that Pakistani students should have skills development certificate at par with International standards.
She also asked the government to include the subjects related to religious freedom and harmony in the curriculum of school and at university level.
The minister thanked Sayeeda Warsi for her valuable suggestions and assured of their implementation.
Special Assistant to Overseas Pakistanis Zulfiqar Bukhari was also present on the occasion.
