Govt forms teams to carry out earthquake rescue activities: Musadiq

ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (APP): Spokesman to the Prime Minister Musadiq Malik
Monday said the federal government have formed seven teams to carry out
rescue activities in earthquake affected areas across the country.
Talking to news channel, he said, National Disaster Management
Authority (NDMA) has directed Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) to capture areal images of earthquake hit areas to precisely measure the damages caused by the calamity.
He said 8.1 magnitude earthquake jolted the whole country specially
northern areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Federally
Administered Areas (FATA) where most of the deaths have occurred.
The spokesman said every possible assistance would be provided to
the victims of earthquake and best medical facilities would also be given to
them.
He expressed grief and sorrow on behalf of the Prime Minister Muhammad
Nawaz Sharif, over the losses of precious lives and financial damages in the
natural calamity.
