Govt ensures uninterrupted power supply during Sehri, Iftar: Leghari

ISLAMABAD, Feb 18 (APP):Federal Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari on Wednesday announced that the government would ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during Sehri and Iftar across the country in Ramazan, following special directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
Addressing a press conference along with Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, he stated that both the Power Division and the Petroleum Division conducted a detailed review of the current energy situation over the past few days. In line with the Prime Minister’s instructions, it has been decided that there will be no load shedding during Sehri and Iftar hours across the country, except in the case of any major unforeseen technical fault..
He further said that even feeders categorized under high-loss areas, where load management is applied, will not experience load shedding during Sehri and Iftar times.
To ensure effective monitoring, a special control room has been established at the Power Information Technology Company (PITC), where all feeders will be closely monitored. Authorities will ensure strict compliance with the directive to prevent outages during the specified timings.
The minister also urged consumers to report any electricity-related complaints through the helpline 118, assuring that grievances would be addressed promptly. He said dedicated teams had been assigned to ensure quick response and resolution of issues.
