ISLAMABAD, Nov 6 (APP):Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Dr Noor-ul-Haq Qadri on Wednesday said the government was doing legislation in the light of ‘Payam-e-Pakistan’ to curb the menaces of terrorism, sectarianism and extremism.
About 1,000 Ulema and religious scholars of all schools of thought had the signed the Payam-e-Pakistan, a national narrative to root terrorism and extremism from the society, he said while talking to a private television.
As regards the JUI-F sit-in, he said JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman, being a senior politician and religious scholar, should not use Islam for his political objectives.
He said even all the members of the opposition’s Rahbar Committee were not convinced about the JUI-F chief’s demand for the resignation of prime minister. Moreover, he had failed to provide any proof of rigging in the last general election, he added.
To a question, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan would inaugurate the Kartarpur Corridor on November 9 while Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) would be celebrated on November 10.
He said the waiver of passport for the Sikh pilgrims would be for a limited period and they would also not to go out of the limits of Kartapur.
