Govt declares June 25, 26 public holidays on account of Ashura
ISLAMABAD, Jun 22 (APP):The federal government on Monday announced two-day public holidays across the country on June 25 and 26 (Thursday and Friday) to observe the 9th and 10th of Muharram-ul-Haram, 1448 A.H. (Ashura).
According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division, the prime minister has been pleased to approve the public holidays on the occasion of Ashura. The notification stated that the holidays will be observed in all public sector offices and educational institutions, including those observing five-day and six-day working weeks.
The Cabinet Division has forwarded copies of the notification to all ministries, divisions, provincial governments, and relevant administrative departments for wide implementation and publicity.
