ISLAMABAD, May 10 (APP):Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr. Zafar Mirza Friday said the PTI government was committed to provide best medical and education facilities to the people in line with vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Talking to PTV , he said the present government was giving priority to health, education and special focus on measures were being taken in this regard to boost these two sectors.
He also stressed the importance of adopting preventive measures against the life-threatening disease.
Dr.Zafar said efforts were under way to raise awareness about taking precautionary measures against the killer diseases.
He said that by avoiding transfusion of untested blood, dental treatment from an unqualified doctor and application of used syringe, one could be saved from the deadly diseases.
He said that as soon as a person is infected by HIV, the immune system is disabled and the body gets vulnerable to different diseases.
It was observed that many people shied away from telling others about their disease and at last they lost their lives.
Dr Zafar said free medicines are distributed to the HIV infected patients and government was taking many preventative measures to stop this deadly disease .
To a question , Dr. Zafar Mirza said that illegal increase in the prices of medicines would not be tolerated at any cost.
The health ministry was busy in taking different measures to enhance the health budget and by enforcing further taxes on tobacco and drinks, the health budget can be increased three to four percent, he suggested.
A lot of amount was being used for provision of best health care and education facilities to the masses of the country, he concluded
