Govt committed to develop Kartarpur, Nankana Sahib

NANKANA SAHIB, Nov 12 (APP)::Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Peer Noor ul Haq Qadri Tuesday felicitated the Sikh community across the globe on the 550th birth anniversary of founder of Sikh religion Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Addressing a ceremony here at the Gurdwara Janam Asthan, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan had given a message of religious freedoms in the country by opening of Karatrpur Corridor and told the world that Pakistan was an Islamic Republic but it provided complete religious freedom to the followers of all religions.
Qadri said that there was no restriction on any minority to practice their religion in Pakistan, adding that the holy Quran and Islam taught us to follow religion in letter and spirit and not to meddle in others’ religions.
About Prime Minister’s commitment to the opening of Kartarpur Corridor, Noor ul Haq Qadri said he was an eye witness to the fact that Prime Minister Imran Khan convened more than 10 meetings and directed departments concerned to complete the corridor before the 550th birth celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji whatever be the circumstances.
He said Sikhs were an honorable and not ungrateful nation, adding that Imran Khan had won hearts of the Sikh nation across the globe and they would never forget this act of kindness.
The Minister said to please human being was to please God, adding the smile on the faces of the Sikh pilgrims was true reward for the government of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Interior Minister Brig (Retd) Ijaz Ahmed Shah, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, MPA Mahinder Pal Singh, and a large number of Sikh Yatrees from across the globe attended the birth celebrations.
