Govt committed to achieve target of creating jobs, incorporating youth in decision making

ISLAMABAD, Apr 4 (APP):Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul Thursday said that the government was committed to achieve its target of more creating jobs and incorporating young leaders in decision making process at the community level.

Speaking at the “Career Fair 2019; Creating right-fits between Academia and Industry” organized by Air University here, the minister said that Prime Minister Imran Khan in the wake of empowering youth had introduced young leaders in the parliament for having their active role in policy making.

Zartaj said career fair was a new idea and it had depicted the commitment of Air University to ensure a promising future for its students along with quality education and skills.

“The University has invited companies providing job opportunities at the door steps of its students so that none of them remains unemployed. The companies have gathered here for imparting career counseling, giving internships and employment which have finished the problem for an aspiring youth to seek job after completing his education,” she added.

The state minister lauded the authorities of Air University on holding successful Career Fair and said that other universities should follow suit this initiative of Air University.

“The credit goes to Air University that instead of bothering about students’ fee and completion of academic sessions you have also paid due consideration to career counseling of your students.

The company representatives told me that they take interns from the university under internship and train them. Afterwards employ their services in the company which is appreciable.

It also provides a platform to the companies for interaction as they scarcely get any such occasion to mull over the standards of services rendered to the public.

“Moreover, they are also offering jobs to skilful and brilliant students of the university which is encouraging for the youth,” she added.

Deputy Director, Centre for Professional Development Air Commodore Zaheer Siddiqui said Air University along with quality academics was focusing on skill development and grooming youth personality for a successful career.

The University had organized one to one career counseling sessions and also held seminars including one on cyber security.

He said, “We invite industrial representatives to acquaint our students with the prevailing trends and challenges in the industrial sector.”

Vice Chancellor, Air University, Air Vice Marshal (R) Faaiz Amir presented a souvenir to the State Minister.

However, around 70 companies had gathered at Air University to participate in the Career Fair 2019 and set up their stalls including consultants of various national and multinational companies who were offering career counseling, internships and working opportunities to the students.
