Govt committed to accelerate, sustain economic growth: Makhdum Khusro

ISLAMABAD, Mar 14 (APP):Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform, Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar said Thursday that the incumbent government was committed to undertake structural reforms to accelerate and sustain economic growth.
Talking to Country Director, World Bank, Patchamuthu Illangovan, who called on him here, the minister said that corrective measures were being taken to put the economy on sustainable growth path.
Secretary Planning Zafar Hasan and senior officials of the ministry were also present on the occasion.
The minister also highlighted the main contours of 12th five year Plan which envisages stabilizing the national economy and transforming the country into an emerging economy.
During the meeting, Illangovan apprised the minister that the World Bank was launching the report ‘Pakistan-100’ that discusses options for Pakistan to increase its economic growth in the medium term.
He informed the Minister about key features of the report which proposes policy interventions for transforming Pakistan into a progressive and prosperous country. He further apprised that the report would be launched on March 18.
