Govt, armed forces on same page: Governor Punjab

LAHORE, Oct 11 (APP):Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said the government and the armed forces were on the same page for the defense, progress and security of the country.

Addressing participants of National Security workshop of National Defense University (NDU) led by Major General Asif Ali here at the Governor’s House on Friday, he said the armed forces had written a new history through their victory in the war against terror, adding the nation salutes their sacrifices for the country.

Governor Punjab said the government wanted to strengthen institutions and put the country on the road to prosperity but some anti-state elements wanted to destabilize the country to achieve their personal agenda and vested interests.

He reassured the participants that the government would not compromise on accountability; transparency and merit, adding the country would be rid of the menace of corruption.
