PESHAWAR, Sep 13 (APP):People from cross section of the society here Thursday highly hailed the announcement of Government to convert Prime Minister House to a postgraduate educational university and termed it a landmark decision towards promotion of higher education in the country.
Member National Assembly (MNA) and PTI leader, Nasir Khan Musazai told APP on Thursday that announcement of Minister for Education, Shafqat Mehmood to convert Prime Minister House into a post graduate university was a landmark and practical step of PTI Government towards promotion of higher education imperative for sustained economic progress and development.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan has set an unprecedented example of austerity and simplicity to convert Prime Minister House to a university that reflected his deep love and commitment for education.
He said quality education was imperative for sustainable progress and development and no country can make progress without higher education and research works.
“We can only compete with world by producing quality manpower including scientists, doctors, engineers, architects, financial and economic managers besides others skilled work force to take the country to new heights of progress and development under dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.”
He said people were worried about kings like lifestyles of the past rulers as they could not be easily approached, resultantly gap between Govt and general public have been widened besides leads to frustrations due to non resolution of people’s problems.
The PTI lawmaker said Pakistan can’t afford lavish expenses anymore and PTI Govt decided to convert PM House Islamabad and Governor House Peshawar to museum to promote education, art, culture and tourism.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan was the last hope of people of Pakistan and all promises made by him would fulfill in letter and spirit.
Musazaid PTI previous Govt has brought revolution in education sector by constructing first ever Girls Cadet College in Mardan besides spent billions of rupees on provision of missing facilities like furniture, washrooms, chairs and boundary walls in the province.
As result of massive funding, reforms and projects in education sectors during last five years in KP, confidence of masses on Govt schools restored and people started enrollment of their children in Govt schools.
Misal Khan, a retired Information Officer also termed decision of converting PM House to an education University was historic and pro-education step of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said decision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Governors not to stay in Prime Minister House and Governors Houses would save around Rs1150 million annually to the national kitty .
Khan also welcomed announcement of the Education Minister for converting Governor House Peshawar into museum, saying such decisions are very helpful in promoting art and culture in the province.
He said building of Governor House Peshawar was very historic built in British era that would attract local and foreign tourists in large number.
He said converting Governor House at NathiaGali to tourist resorts would attract large number of tourists, mountaineers and adventurers.
Nazim Bahadar Khan also hailed Govt decision to convert PM House to a University and Governor Peshawar to museum and termed it major pro-education and tourism promoting steps of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
