Govt allocates Rs. 800 million for development of National Botanical Garden; Senate told

Minister of State for Climate Change and Environment Coordination, Dr Shezra Mansab Ali Khan Kharal on Friday said that Rs. 800 million has been allocated under the Up-scaling Green Pakistan Programme for development of the National Botanical Garden. 

ISLAMABAD, Aug 21 (APP):Minister of State for Climate Change and Environment Coordination, Dr Shezra Mansab Ali Khan Kharal on Friday said that Rs. 800 million has been allocated under the Up-scaling Green Pakistan Programme for development of the National Botanical Garden.
In a written reply, she said that a consultant has prepared the master plan, detailed designs, drawings, management plan, business plan and PC-I for Phase-I, which is under process for endorsement by the Planning Division.
She added tender documents have also been finalized. Upon approval of the PC-I and creation of the requisite posts, dedicated watch and ward staff will be hired for effective surveillance and security of the boundary wall of National Zoo-cum-Botanical Garden (ZCBG).
She said that the area of Botanical Garden Islamabad is 725 acre while the construction of the boundary wall, pillars and grills were started in January 2018 and completed in June 2019. She added the total expenditure was incurred 103.494 million rupees.
