Govt allocates Rs 1000 bln for transport, infrastructure sector: Aurangzeb

ISLAMABAD, Jun 10 (APP):Federal Minister for Finance, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb on Tuesday said that the federal government allocated Rs 1000 billion for transport and infrastructure sector in the fiscal budget 2025-26.
In a budget speech, the minister revealed that the government earmarked a hefty amount of Rs 328 billion for transport and infrastructure projects to bring revolution in the sector.
He further said that the transport and infrastructure sector is playing a key role in the development and economic stability of the country with aims to achieve ‘Uran Pakistan’ and SDGs goals.
He said the present government has given special focus on transport and infrastructure sector in this budget. Under the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the minister said that Rs 100 billion allocated for the construction of N-25 Motorway from Karachi to Chaman almost 813 kilometer long which connecting to Karachi, Bella, Khuzdar, Kalat, Quetta and Chaman to Afghanistan.
Muhammad Aurangzeb said that Rs 15 billion earmarked for Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway while Rs 7 billion earmarked for Thar-Coal rail connectivity project for their timely completion.
He said that the government allocated Rs 1.9 billion for the up-gradation of Gaddani Ship breaking in Maritime Sector in the fiscal budget. Huge amount allocated for the provincial transport projects across the country, he concluded.
