ISLAMABAD, Jun 10 (APP):The Higher Education Sector has been declared one of the most vital sectors for national development, as it plays a crucial role in producing a skilled workforce capable of enhancing productivity and boosting industrial exports.
During the budgetary speech, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening higher education, with a significant allocation of PKR 39.5 billion for the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
This funding will support 170 ongoing and new projects, including PKR 38.5 billion dedicated to existing schemes to ensure their timely completion, he added. In addition to infrastructure development, the Prime Minister’s Special Initiative aims to empower differently-abled students by providing electric wheelchairs, customized laptops, and audio-visual aids.
