Govt aims quake-victims’ rehabilitation before winter turns harsh : PM

KHAR (BAJAUR), Nov 2 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz
Sharif Monday said the government wanted to ensure the early
rehabilitation of quake-hit families before winter turned harsh
and severe.
He said the process had already been initiated with the
distribution of compensatoion cheques among people.
Addressing a gathering of affected people here, the Prime
Minister said the government was making all-out efforts for their
complete rehabilitation to help them return to normal life at the
earliest.
“I am here to redress your pains. We stand shoulder to
shoulder with you in this difficult time,” he added.
He said the affected people could encash the cheques from
Tuesday for carrying out reconstruction of their houses, damaged
in the earthquake.
He said the government had already worked out compensation
package for the loss of lives and property and added compensation
amount would be dispensed through cheques only.
He lauded the affected people who braved this difficult time
and assured that the government stood by them in this hour of
distress.
The Prime Minister thanked Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Governor Sardar
Mehtab Ahmed , Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak, and the provincial
government, besides lauding the role of Pakistan Army to assist
the government in damage assessment.
