Governor welcomes Yousaf Raza Gilani’s acquittal

RAWALPINDI, Jul 25 (APP): Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan Friday welcomed the acquittal of Chairman Senate, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani in various cases in anti corruption court at his residence in Islamabad. The Governor met the Chairman at his home and congratulated him on his honorable acquittal in 14 cases.
The governor praised Gilani’s steadfastness and patience as an iconic political leader.
The Senate Chairman said that PPP always respected the honourable judiciary.
While extending gratitude, he commended the Governor’s performance in Punjab province, saying that his efforts have infused new political spirit among party workers and attracted members from other parties to join the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
The chairman described the Governor’s services to the party as commendable.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that PPP leaders and workers have bravely faced politically motivated cases. He highlighted that despite facing executions, imprisonments, and hardships, the spirit of PPP leadership, including President Zardari, and workers could not be suppressed.
He underlined that the politics of chaos has harmed democracy, but the PPP has never engaged in such practices.
The Governor stressed that the PPP has made the greatest sacrifices for democracy and urged all political parties to work together to strengthen it.
