Governor Sindh, IT minister discuss digital transformation, youth empowerment

ISLAMABAD, Aug 06 (APP): Governor Sindh Nehal Hashmi on Thursday visited the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, where he met Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the growth of Pakistan’s information technology and telecommunications sectors. They also reviewed ways to accelerate digital transformation and strengthen cooperation between the federal and provincial governments.

The Governor praised the federal minister for introducing reforms and policies aimed at modernising the country’s IT sector. He said these initiatives had helped speed up Pakistan’s digital transformation.

He said the government’s IT initiatives were creating new job opportunities and helping young people acquire digital skills needed to compete in the global market.

He also appreciated the government’s efforts to empower youth through technology and skills development programmes.

Shaza Fatima said the government’s top priority was to equip young people across Pakistan with digital skills and modern technologies to support inclusive national development.

She said the government was upgrading the country’s telecommunications infrastructure to strengthen the digital economy and promote sustainable economic growth.

Nehal Hashmi and Shaza Fatima reaffirmed their commitment to improving cooperation between the federation and the provinces.

They also agreed to work together on programmes to equip the youth of Sindh with digital skills and expand collaboration on IT-related projects.
