Governor Sarwar meets US Senator Gary

LAHORE, Apr 09 (APP):Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar met the United States (U.S) Senator Gary Peters Sr. of the Democratic Party in New York City and discussed matters of mutual interest including Pak-US relations, tension between Pakistan and India and the war on terror.
According to a statement issued here by the Governor House on Tuesday, Mohammad Sarwar briefed the US Senator on the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in the war on terror and steps taken to eradicate terrorism from the region.
The US Democratic Party leader Tahir Javed and Scottish Parliamentarian Anas Sarwar were also present during the meeting.
Governor Punjab Mohammad Sarwar said Pakistan had played a vital role in defeating terrorism in South Asia, urging the international community to acknowledge its sacrifices in defeating terrorism.
Stressing upon the need of strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United States, he said cooperation between US and Pakistan should continue in all areas.
Senator Gary Peters Sr. acknowledged the role of Pakistan in war on terror and said the United States would keep supporting Pakistan in the war.
The US Senator further said Pak-US relations would get stronger in the coming days, adding the United States would also help Pakistan in overcoming its financial crisis.
