ISLAMABAD, Feb 25 (APP): Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Wednesday termed the visit of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) delegation to the United States as highly beneficial for Pakistan’s economic growth and prosperity.
He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by its President Usman Shaukat.
During the meeting, the delegation briefed the Governor about details of their recent visit to the United States. They informed that the delegation highlighted investment opportunities available in Pakistan to the American business community.
The RCCI president said that American investors showed keen interest in investing in Pakistan’s minerals, fruits and other sectors. However, he said that the deteriorating law and order situation and concerns regarding investment security were major hurdles in attracting foreign investment.
He said the delegation assured US investors of full cooperation and support from the State of Pakistan and emphasized the need to ensure security and protection for investors in line with the Astana agreement.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Kundi appreciated the efforts of RCCI, saying such initiatives would help project a positive image of Pakistan at the international level and attract much-needed foreign investment.
He said the Government of Pakistan was taking concrete measures to ensure peace and stability in the country and to strengthen the national economy, adding that the benefits of these steps would be shared by the entire nation.
