A new era of development has begun in Balochistan with the launch of a landmark infrastructure project to convert the N-25 National Highway—widely regarded as the province’s lifeline—into a modern dual-carriageway expressway.
The initiative is expected to significantly boost economic activity, social connectivity, and travel safety across the province.
The N-25 National Highway project has been described by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti as a cornerstone of their broader development vision for the province.
In a press release, the officials said that the project will play a vital role in linking Balochistan with new avenues of growth and national integration.
Construction has formally commenced, with rapid work underway on the Khuzdar–Wadh section. Heavy machinery, engineers, and hundreds of workers are operating around the clock to ensure timely completion.
After completion of construction work, the dual-lane expressway will make travel safer, faster, and more efficient, while reducing accidents on a route long plagued by congestion and safety concerns.
Local residents and stakeholders have welcomed the project, noting that the expansion of the N-25 will open new opportunities in trade, tourism, and employment.
For many in Balochistan, the conversion of the N-25 into a dual carriageway represents the fulfillment of a long-standing public demand. Upon completion, travel from Karachi to Chaman will become more secure, comfortable, and time-efficient, enhancing mobility across key urban and rural areas.
