ISLAMABAD, Oct 29 (APP):Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq said on Wednesday that the governance system in AJK has been digitized to make administration more transparent and efficient with prime focus to eliminate maladministration ensuring prompt resolution of public issues.
Addressing the meeting, the PM said that good governance, transparency, and public service are the government’s top priorities.
He emphasized that public confidence can be restored through improved institutional performance, a merit-based system, and transparency in decision-making.
He noted that the government has successfully established an effective, accountable, and transparent system through practical reforms and institutional strengthening.
He reaffirmed that the development of Azad Kashmir, institutional strengthening, and public welfare remain the government’s core objectives, and any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.
The meeting decided that Deputy Commissioners of all districts must ensure office attendance at 8:30 in the morning daily. “Failure to comply will result in disciplinary action”, it was decided.
He also directed all Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and SPs to introduce a system of weekly distribution of responsibilities to enhance efficiency at the district level.
It was further decided that Deputy Commissioners will conduct coordinated operations throughout the week to remove encroachments, restore traffic flow, curb price gouging, improve health and sanitation arrangements, and ensure the effective functioning of District Coordination and Development Committees.
All departments were directed to enhance performance, establish effective mechanisms for resolving public grievances, and ensure transparency in their operations.
The meeting was attended by Senior Minister Col. (R) Waqar Ahmed Noor, Ministers Sardar Mir Akbar Khan, Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq, and Nisar Ansar Abdali, Senior Member Board of Revenue Sardar Zafar Khan, Principal Secretary Sardar Zafar Mahmood, Chairman Inland Revenue Chaudhry Muhammad Raqeeb, and other senior officials.
