ISLAMABAD, Jan 2 (APP):The Federal Government has reiterated its strong commitment to fulfill the demands of the Joint Awami Action Committee of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, despite failure of representatives of JAAC to attend this important meeting of the Committee held today.
The meeting was convened after a timely and formal invitation was extended to the Joint Awami Action Committee representatives.
However, their absence from such a crucial consultative session, has been described as unfortunate particularly, at such time when much progress as per commitment has been achieved and future progress requires continuous mutual engagement.
The Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, Engr. Amir Muqam, has chaired several high-level meetings aimed at implementing the demands put forward by the Joint Awami Action Committee.
These efforts reflect the Federal Government’s sincere intention to address public concerns through dialogue, legal review, and practical measures.
In consequence of the agreement date October 4, 2025 a meeting was scheduled to be held on January 2, 2026 in the committee Room of Ministry of KA, GB and SAFRON.
Despite the notice issued for meeting on December 31, 2025 JAAC member did not participate in the meeting.
Other members of the committee waited for them for considerable time but in vain.
Officials emphasized that ignoring today’s meeting sends an unfavorable signal and undermines the spirit of constructive engagement.
The Federal Government remains open to dialogue and urges the Joint Awami Action Committee to participate responsibly in institutional processes to ensure timely and effective resolution of issues in the best interest of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
