Good policies emerge in stable political system: Ahsan Iqbal

LAHORE, Nov 23 (APP): Federal Minister for Planning Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal has said that peace of Balochistan is imperative for ensuring progress and development
in the country.
Addressing a seminar on “Stability of Balochistan Challenges and Possibilities” at The University of Punjab here on Monday, he said, “The Almighty Allah has blessed us with the opportunity of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and by availing this
opportunity in the best manner we can overcome deprivations.”
The minister said that countries like China, Japan, Korea,
Turkey and others made progress through political stability,
adding that good policies would emerge only in the presence
of stable political system, he added.
Ahsan Iqbal said federation could be strengthened only
if there would be continuity in the democratic system.
He said that it was the policy of Prime Minister Muhammad
Nawaz Sharif that no political party or institution could solely
resolve problems of the country.
He said that Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik
Baloch had played a great role in putting the province on the
road to progress, adding that the problems in Balochistan
were that rulers over there could not tap the resources in
a better way.
The minister said that now things were improving as the
trust of the people of Balochistan was reviving with regard
to the utilization of resources and added that change was
also coming in the field of education.
He said that if any “sardar” would give 100 acre land
for establishing educational institution in Balochistan this
effort would definitely be supported.
Ahsan Iqbal further said that CPEC would bring transformational
change for Pakistan including Balochistan and added that CPEC would
leave positive impact on under developed areas of Balochistan.
Gawadra to Zhob, Gwadar to Khuzdar Ratodero and Gwadar coastline
were among those where betterment would come, he added.
It was the top priority of the government to bring Balochistan
in the mainstream, adding that problems including water would be
resolved, he added.
He said that with the grace of Almighty Allah in 2018,
Balochistan would be more better in terms of education, health
and infrastructure than that of in 2013.
Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique speaking
on the occasion said that good thing was that the sense had been
developed in the largest province of the country that Balochistan
did not get proper attention.
Saad Rafique said, “Now when we go in people we have to tell
them that when things in Karachi and Balochistan will improve and
what steps are being taken in this regard.”
He said that performance of Balochistan Chief Minister Dr
Abdul Malik Baloch was admirable, adding that police had been
depoliticized in Balochistan.
He said that steps were being taken for establishing railway
station in Gwadar and also work was being carried out to link
Quetta and Peshawar through railways, adding that after which
one could travel from Peshawar to Quetta in about 8 to 9 hours.
He said that with the grace of Almighty Allah in future all ways
would lead towards the prosperity of the Balochistan.
