ISLAMABAD, Apr 06 (APP):On World Health Day, Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani highlighted the urgent need to invest in strong and inclusive healthcare systems to safeguard the well-being of all citizens.
In his message, he said public health is not just a sectoral issue but a key part of national development and social stability.
He stressed that access to affordable and quality healthcare is vital for empowering communities and supporting sustainable economic growth.
He called for better coordination between federal and provincial authorities, increased funding, and the use of innovative methods to improve healthcare services, especially in rural and underserved areas.
The Chairman also emphasized preventive healthcare, encouraging people to adopt healthier lifestyles and prioritize early
diagnosis. He urged stronger awareness campaigns to fight both communicable and non-communicable diseases.
Reaffirming the Senate’s support, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said legislative and policy measures will continue to back efforts to improve the healthcare system. He called on all sectors of society to work together to build a healthier, more resilient Pakistan.
