ISLAMABAD, Jul 27 (APP):Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, in his message on the 77th death anniversary of Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed (Nishan-e-Haider), paid heartfelt tribute to Pakistan’s first military hero awarded the highest gallantry medal.
He described him as a shining example of patriotism, courage, and selfless sacrifice.
Gilani recalled that Captain Sarwar laid down his life during the 1948 war in the Uri sector while bravely confronting the enemy.
His martyrdom, he said, played a vital role in strengthening the foundation of the country.
“His bravery continues to guide future generations, teaching us the true meaning of loyalty, dedication, and sacrifice,” he added.
The Senate Chairman said that the sacrifices of martyrs are the cornerstone of Pakistan’s survival and stability. “We salute our heroic sons who gave their today so we could live in peace,” he added.
He emphasised that nations remain strong by remembering their martyrs and walking in their footsteps to ensure national progress and defence.
Gilani said the entire nation is proud of courageous soldiers like Captain Sarwar Shaheed, who shed their blood to secure the blessing of freedom for generations to come.
