ISLAMABAD, Jul 01 (APP):Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, on Wednesday, extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the newly elected office-bearers of the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Sports Journalists Association (RISJA), who were elected unopposed.
Congratulating the newly elected leadership, the Chairman Senate conveyed his best wishes to Abu Bakar Bin Talat on his election as President, Zulfiqar Baig as Senior Vice President, Zahid Awan and Asghar Ali Mubarak as Vice Presidents, Ambarin Ali as General Secretary, Zeeshan Qayyum as Senior Joint Secretary, Owais Latif and Aqeel Anjum as Joint Secretaries, and Nasir Abbas Naqvi as Finance Secretary, along with all members of the Governing Body.
The Chairman Senate expressed confidence that the newly elected leadership would play an effective role in promoting professional journalism, transparency, unity, and the highest standards of journalistic ethics within the sports media community.
Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani stated that sports journalism plays a vital role in the promotion of sports, encourages positive engagement among the youth, and contributes to fostering a healthy and progressive society.
He said that responsible and professional sports journalism not only supports the development of sports but also strengthens national unity and enhances Pakistan’s positive image.
The Chairman Senate further expressed hope that the new RISJA leadership would work diligently to safeguard the rights of sports journalists, enhance their professional capacity, promote ethical journalism, and contribute significantly towards making the Association stronger, more dynamic, and more prestigious.
