Chairman Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Tuesday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, wife of former Malaysian Prime Minister, Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Gilani condoles death of Mahathir Mohamad’s wife
ISLAMABAD, Sep 29 (APP): Chairman Senate, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Tuesday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali, wife of former Malaysian Prime Minister, Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
In his condolence message, the Chairman Senate expressed heartfelt sympathies with Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his family. He paid tribute to Dr Siti Hasmah for her valuable services in medicine, public health, women’s welfare and social development, saying her contributions would always be remembered with respect.
Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said Dr Siti Hasmah had rendered significant services in the fields of medicine and public health throughout her professional career. He added that her role in public welfare, women’s wellbeing and social development was also highly commendable.
He said her services represented a respected legacy in Malaysia’s public and social life.
The Chairman Senate expressed solidarity with the bereaved family, particularly Dr Mahathir Mohamad, and said that Pakistan’s Parliament and people shared the grief of the Malaysian leadership and people in this hour of sorrow.
He prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the departed soul a high place in Jannat and give Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his family strength to bear the irreparable loss.
