ISLAMABAD, Sep 18 (APP):Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Friday strongly condemned the bomb blast that occurred during Friday prayers at the mosque in Kohat Police Lines, expressing deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious human lives.
The Chairman Senate prayed for the elevation of the ranks of those martyred in the tragic incident and for patience and fortitude for their bereaved families. He also expressed heartfelt sympathies and solidarity with the families of the victims and prayed for the early and complete recovery of those injured.
He urged the relevant authorities to ensure the provision of the best possible medical treatment and facilities to the injured.
Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said that targeting worshippers at a sacred place like a mosque was an act of extreme brutality and a blatant violation of the teachings of Islam and humanity.
He said terrorists were enemies of humanity and had no connection whatsoever with any religion.The Chairman Senate reaffirmed that the resolve of the nation and security forces to combat terrorism remained unwavering.
He said the terrorists would never succeed in achieving their nefarious objectives, adding that the government and security forces were taking all possible measures to eliminate terrorism and establish lasting peace in the country.
He reiterated that the national struggle against terrorism would continue with determination and that those responsible for such heinous acts would be brought to justice in accordance with the law.
The Chairman Senate prayed to Allah Almighty to elevate the ranks of the martyrs, grant patience and courage to the bereaved families, bless the injured with a speedy and complete recovery, and grant peace, security and stability to Pakistan.
