German ambassador visits NUML, explores opportunities for academic, cultural collaboration

ISLAMABAD, Jun 12 (APP): Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Pakistan, Ina Lepel on Friday visited the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) and held a meeting with the university leadership to discuss avenues for academic and cultural cooperation.
The Ambassador was accompanied by Head of the Press and Cultural Section Jan Krausser, warmly received by Rector NUML, Maj Gen (R) Shahid Mahmood Kiyani, DG Brig Muhammad Rafiq Khan along with senior university officials.
During the meeting, the Rector shared NUML’s vision of language education, emphasizing that the university’s language programs go beyond linguistic proficiency to promote intercultural understanding, global awareness, and meaningful international engagement.
He highlighted the expansion of language programs across NUML campuses nationwide and underscored the university’s commitment to academic excellence through its robust Quality Enhancement Cell, which continuously monitors and enhances educational standards.
Ambassador Lepel expressed keen interest in NUML’s academic initiatives and innovative language-teaching methodologies.
She appreciated the university’s modern learning environment and particularly commended the newly renovated Language Block, recognizing NUML’s efforts to provide state-of-the-art facilities for students.
Following the signing of the Visitors’ Book, the Ambassador interacted with faculty members and students of the German Language Department. During the engaging session, she responded to students’ questions and offered valuable insights on academic preparation, cultural adaptability, and opportunities for higher education in Germany.
The visit reaffirmed the strong academic and cultural ties between Pakistan and Germany and provided a valuable platform for dialogue and cooperation in the field of language education.
