SIALKOT, Nov 23 (APP): Ambassador of Germany to Pakistan, Ina Lepel Monday visited Sialkot International Airport and appreciated the vision and entrepreneurship which made the project a success.
She had a meeting with Chairman of Sialkot international Airport Mian Muhammad Riaz and Board of directors. Speaking on the occasion, the German Ambassador lauded the role of the
business community for Sialkot International Airport project completed on self help basis.
Later, the Ambassador along with Chairman Sialkot International Airport visited different sections of the airport.Earlier, addressing a meeting Chairman Sialkot International Airport
Muhammad Riaz said that Sialkot airport was an exceptionally important mega project in private sector and was first ever initiative of its kind in the country as well as in the region.
“The area bounded by the unique triangle comprising Sialkot-Gujranwala
and Gujrat has great number of overseas Pakistanis working in European and Gulf countries”, he said.
He said the airport has accelerated the pace of cargo transportation
and thus facilitated a number of businessmen and overseas Pakistanis,
as well as general travellers.
