ISLAMABAD, Jan 21 (APP):Caretaker Information Minister Gilgit-Baltistan, Ghulam Abbas on Wednesday said that the first priority of the GB caretaker setup was to conduct the upcoming elections transparently and peacefully.
Speaking on the program Meet the Press in National Press Club (NPC) here, he said that all political parties will be allowed to contest in the upcoming general elections of GB.
He emphasized that the caretaker Chief Minister has given clear directions to identify the problems being facing by the people and efforts should be taken to resolve the issues of electricity, internet and others.
Ghulam Abbas believed in freedom of the expression and to ensure the provision of health cards for journalists. Caretaker Information Minister expressed these views along with Spokesperson Caretaker Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Shabbir Mir, President NPC Azhar Jatoi, President GB Journalists Forum Abrar Astori, Member Governing Body NPC Jafar Balti, and Former President RIUJ Abid Abbasi.
He added, “I am grateful to the NPC and all the journalists who organized this program in a short time as this National Press Club is my home. I have come to this house today as a guest.”
President NPC welcomed the Caretaker Information Minister of GB upon his arrival at the National Press Club and said that Ghulam Abbas becoming the Caretaker Minister was a matter of honor not only for the people of GB but also for the NPC as well.
