FUUAST, Financial University Moscow, CAPES to hold Pakistan–Russia international student research conference

ISLAMABAD, Jul 03 (APP): The Department of International Relations, Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST), Islamabad, the Faculty of Social Sciences, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and the Consortium of Asia Pacific and Eurasian Studies (CAPES) will jointly organize the Pakistan–Russia International Student Research Conference 2025–2026 on 6 July as an online conference.
The conference is the final event of a six-month joint research project that brought together students and faculty members from Pakistan and Russia. It is the first conference of its kind jointly organized by Pakistan and Russia under this initiative.
During the conference, nine international student research teams will present the results of their joint research under the supervision of their faculty mentors from both universities. The presentations will cover topics including Pakistan-Russia relations, media, artificial intelligence, climate security, culture, trade and socio-economic development.
The research papers presenting at the conference will be reviewed and later published in an edited book as an outcome of this collaborative research initiative.
Speaking ahead of the conference, Dr Faisal Javaid, Head of the Department of IR, FUUAST Islamabad, said that international academic collaboration is one of the department’s key priorities. He said such initiatives provide students and faculty with valuable opportunities to work with international research partners, exchange ideas and contribute to the global academic community.
Dr Daria Osinina, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Financial University, said the conference reflects the growing academic partnership between Pakistan and Russia and provides students with a valuable platform for international research collaboration and knowledge exchange.
