MALAKAND, Jun 18 (APP):Malakand Levies on Thursday arrested four suspects involved in stealing expensive batteries from mobile towers and copper coils from electricity transformers during joint operations in different areas of the district.
According to Levies officials, the operations were carried out in the jurisdictions of Qaidabad and Cooper police stations, resulting in the arrest of four accused individuals.
The arrested suspects include two persons from Heroshah and two from Cooper, while efforts are underway to apprehend the main accused, who is reportedly a resident of Talash.
Officials said that stolen mobile tower batteries and transformer coil materials, worth hundreds of thousands of rupees, were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects during the raids.
Assistant Commissioner Riaz Masood presented the arrested suspects before the media.
On the occasion, Subedar Major Levies Niaz Rehman, Post Commander Qaidabad Azizur Rehman, Post Commander Cooper Sabir Rehman, and investigation officers Noor Zaman Shah and Subhan Ali were also present.
The Assistant Commissioner stated that the suspects had been involved in multiple theft incidents for a long time and that their arrest had led to important breakthroughs in ongoing investigations.
He added that operations against criminal elements would continue without discrimination and that protection of life and property of citizens would be ensured at all costs.
