FO briefed foreign envoys on Indian plan: Qureshi

ISLAMABAD, Apr 7 (APP):Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Sunday said the Foreign Office had briefed the ambassadors of 20 to 22 countries on an Indian plan to launch an aggression against Pakistan.
The diplomats had been requested to play their role in de-escalating current tense situation between the two nuclear states, he said while talking to a private news channel.
“India’s Modi government is playing a dangerous game just to win general elections. They are destroying the peace of the whole region,” he said.
Qureshi said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had committed to revoke Article 370 of the Constitution if it came to power. “If this happens it will spark fire in the Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK),” he said.
“After the Pulwama incident, the violations of human rights in IoK have increased,” he said.
He said Pakistan was not in favour of war or damaging the peace of the region. “But if India launches any aggression against Pakistan then we have all the right to defend our motherland,” he said.
The minister said India had violated the international laws, Pakistan’s airspace and even the United Nations (UN) Charter. “As a peaceful gesture, Pakistan released the captured Indian pilot and also sent its High Commissioner back to New Delhi,” he said.
Responding to a question, he said the Islamic world would stand with Pakistan in case any misadventure by India against it.
