FM in Muscat to lead delegation in bilateral meetings

ISLAMABAD, Jan 30 (APP):Minister for Foreign Affairs Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi Wednesday arrived Muscat,
Oman to lead a delegation during the bilateral meetings to further strengthen the bilateral
cooperation.
Qureshi is leading a 12-member delegation of technical experts, representing sector of bilateral
cooperation, falling under the purview of Joint Commission whose 7th Session will be co-chaired
by the two foreign ministers on January 31 followed with signing ceremony of bilateral accords,
a Foreign Office in a press release said.
“The outreach is high on substance, considering Foreign Minister Qureshi’s schedule that
includes meeting with Deputy Prime Sayyid Fahd Bin Mahmood Al-Said, Minister for Royal Office
General Na’mani in addition to covering ‘Strategic Consultation’ with Alawi,” it added.
During his bilateral visit the foreign minister will participate in a mega reception for Pakistani
community. The event would showcase colourful performance by a troupe and band of 50 school
children.
Besides, Pakistani, Omanis and other nationalities will be presented ‘certificates of appreciation’
for their contributions to Pak-Oman friendship.
Earlier upon his arrival, the minister was accorded a warm welcome by his Omani counterpart
Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah.
