First business session of IMC held

ISLAMABAD, June 27 (APP): The first business session of Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC), held here on Monday with Mayor Sheikh Anser Aziz in chair.

The 77 members of IMC have completed their registration during the session.

Addressing with session, the Mayor said that citizens are important and all out efforts would be made to provide them basic civic facilities.

He said it was the desire of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to provide equal facilities to rural and urban areas of Islamabad and city would be developed according to international standards.

He said it would be priorities of IMC to improve the road network and street lights system in the city.

Sheikh Anser said youths are our asset and local body of capital will provide all facilities to them and play grounds would also be constructed as per international standards.

He said sewerage system will also be upgraded adding that to meet the requirements of water main pipe line would be laid from Ghazi Brotha to Islamabad and all restrictions have been removed in this regard and work would be started soon.

He said the Prime Minister has give approval for the town hall. Mayor said to improve the transport system in the capital the modern busses would be launched and proper taxi system will be introduced.

The opposition leader of IMC Ali Awan assured his full support to the corporation to run its matters in a smooth manners.
