ISLAMABAD, June 22 (APP): Finance Minister, Senator Mohammad
Ishaq Dar has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the
death of famous qawali maestro, Amjad Sabri in an armed attack in
Karachi.
The Minister said Amjad Sabri’s death is a great loss to
the art of Qawali recital, said in statement issued by
Ministry of Finance here on Wednesday.
The Minister said Amjad ably carried forward the legacy of
his elders who were themselves an icon of traditional art of Qawali
with their unique style of rendition.
Dar offered heartfelt condolences to the family of late Amjad
Sabri and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
