FIA offloads Spain-bound passenger over tampered Portuguese residence card

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration authorities at Islamabad International Airport offloaded a passenger attempting to travel to Spain on a suspected tampered Portuguese residence card.

ISLAMABAD, Jun 05 (APP):Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration authorities at Islamabad International Airport offloaded a passenger attempting to travel to Spain on a suspected tampered Portuguese residence card.
An official told APP on Friday that passenger Gul Fam Khan, son of Aman-ul-Haq and a resident of Sialkot, was travelling to Spain on flight QR-633 when he was intercepted during immigration clearance.
The official said scrutiny of travel documents revealed that the expiry date on the Portuguese residence card had allegedly been altered.
During initial interrogation, the passenger disclosed that he had paid 200 euros to an agent for changing the expiry date of the residence card, the official added.
The accused was subsequently offloaded and handed over to FIA Anti Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Islamabad for further legal proceedings and investigation.
According to the official, the travel documents, mobile phone and other relevant evidence were taken into custody.
FIA Islamabad Zone continues its crackdown against document fraud, human smuggling and illegal immigration and is taking action against those involved in such offences in accordance with the law.
