FIA offloads Peshawar passenger over Saudi Visa obtained through fake US green card
ISLAMABAD, Aug 09 (APP):The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration at Islamabad International Airport offloaded a Peshawar-based passenger bound for Saudi Arabia after detecting that he had allegedly obtained a Saudi tourist visa on the basis of a fake US Permanent Resident Card.
An FIA official told APP on Sunday that the passenger, a resident of Peshawar district, was intercepted during secondary profiling while attempting to travel to Saudi Arabia aboard Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-841.
The official said a detailed examination of his travel documents revealed that the passenger had allegedly secured the Saudi tourist visa by using a fake US Permanent Resident Card and misrepresenting his residency status.
During preliminary questioning, the passenger disclosed that he had paid Rs220,000 to an agent identified as Hussain to arrange the visa.
The official said the passenger was offloaded and handed over to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC), Islamabad, for further legal proceedings.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the role of the agent and determine whether other individuals were involved in arranging the fraudulent travel documents.
