FIA NCB Interpol nets murder fugitive from Saudi Arabia after Red Notice

ISLAMABAD, Feb 10 (APP): A proclaimed offender wanted in a murder case was arrested from Saudi Arabia in a major international operation carried out by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) NCB Interpol (National Central Bureau).
A FIA official told APP on Tuesday that the accused, Muhammad Waqas, was apprehended in Saudi Arabia and later shifted to Islamabad Airport.

The official said the accused had been wanted by Punjab Police for the last two years in connection with a murder case registered in 2024 at Sadar Police Station, Daska, under relevant sections of law.

He said the FIA NCB Interpol had obtained a Red Notice against the accused, which led to his arrest abroad through international coordination.
Upon arrival in Pakistan, the accused was handed over to Punjab Police by FIA Immigration authorities at Islamabad Airport for further legal proceedings.
The official said the successful arrest and repatriation were made possible due to close coordination between Interpol Islamabad and Interpol Riyadh, reflecting effective international law-enforcement cooperation.
He added that the FIA NCB Interpol remains committed to tracing proclaimed offenders involved in heinous crimes and ensuring their return to Pakistan to face justice.
