ISLAMABAD, Oct 19 (APP): Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Islamabad has arrested a notorious human smuggler involved in multi-million rupee visa frauds and fake overseas employment schemes.
An FIA official told APP on Sunday that the suspect, identified as Rizwan alias Shah, was apprehended from Islamabad in a targeted operation carried out under the directives of FIA Director General Rifaat Mukhtar.
According to the official, the accused was wanted in multiple cases and had swindled citizens by luring them with promises of lucrative jobs in Canada. He had set up a bogus company under the name Mehrban Enterprise in Islamabad, through which he collected millions.
Investigators revealed that in one case alone, Rizwan defrauded a complainant of Rs. 13.2 million by offering fake employment opportunities abroad. Several forged documents and passports were recovered from his possession at the time of arrest.
FIA official said the suspect has been shifted into custody and further investigation is underway. He added that FIA’s ongoing crackdown against human smugglers will continue relentlessly until all such elements are brought to justice.
