ISLAMABAD, Dec 24 (APP): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken a major step towards complete digitization, announcing that from January 1, 2026, all FIRs and citizens’ complaints will be processed through a fully computerized and paperless Case Management System.
An official told APP on Wednesday that, on the directions of Director General FIA Rifat Mukhtar Raja, the Directorate of Internal Accountability has issued special instructions to all FIA circles to strictly implement the new digital system across the country.
Under the reforms, all FIRs will be computer-generated from January 1, 2026, while complaints received from citizens will also be registered, verified and processed entirely through the digital Case Management System.
The official said that verification of complaints, registration of inquiries and cases, issuance of notices and all subsequent proceedings will now be carried out only through the system. Summons notices for citizens have also been made QR-code based to ensure transparency and authenticity.
He added that investigation progress, preparation of records and submission of challans in courts will also be handled digitally, ensuring that the entire process — from public complaint to court decision — remains fully computerized and traceable.
According to the official, the Case Management System has been linked with the performance evaluation of circles and zones, enabling transparent monitoring of officers’ efficiency and accountability.
The reforms aim to improve case handling, investigation reporting and public service delivery by making them faster, more efficient and transparent. The initiative marks a significant move towards a paperless FIA, enhancing institutional performance and public trust.
Officials said the digitization drive will strengthen FIA’s professional capacity and ensure timely, transparent and reliable services for citizens across the country.
