Federal Minister condemns baton charge on JUIF protestors

PESHAWAR, May 28 (APP):Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Akram Khan Durrani here Monday
strongly condemned use of force against peaceful workers of JUIF protesting
against the passage of KP-Fata merger bill in front of the KP Assembly’s
building the other day.
In a statement issue here, the Minister said “we strongly condemned the ‘lathi’ charge and
tear gassing on the peaceful protestors of JUIF during the holy month of
Ramadan.”
The Minister
alleged that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak wanted to press the peaceful
protestors through use of force, which was highly a condemnable act.
“No such treatment was meted out to the people participating in the ‘Dharanas,” he said, adding
those wanting their rights were baton charge in the government of Pakistan Tahrik e Insaf.
