Director General of the Federal Directorate of Immunization (FDI) Dr. Musa Khan has urged parents and caregivers to ensure vaccination of all children under five during the ongoing polio campaign, particularly in high-risk areas across the country.

ISLAMABAD, Nov 04 (APP): Director General of the Federal Directorate of Immunization (FDI) Dr. Musa Khan has urged parents and caregivers to ensure vaccination of all children under five during the ongoing polio campaign, particularly in high-risk areas across the country.

The campaign, being conducted from November 2 to 8 in 97 selected districts, focuses on reaching children in vulnerable communities to prevent the spread of poliovirus.

Dr. Musa Khan highlighted the importance of vaccination in high-risk areas, particularly border communities, districts reporting positive environmental surveillance results and areas with low routine immunisation coverage.

He said dedicated frontline workers were reaching households and communities to administer polio drops and protect children against the crippling disease.

The FDI chief urged parents to cooperate with vaccination teams and ensure that every child under five receives the required vaccine doses during the campaign.

He emphasized that repeated vaccination was essential to strengthen children’s immunity and prevent lifelong paralysis caused by poliovirus.

He said collective efforts by parents, communities, health workers and relevant authorities were vital to achieving a polio-free Pakistan.
