FDE to introduce 'Early childhood education system' in Capital soon : Secretary Edu

ISLAMABAD, May 26 (APP):Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Education Wajiha Akram Wednesday said that government education institutes of Islamabad as per the vision of PM’s Digital Pakistan would implement various digital-based projects including teachers’ tools trainings and introducing ‘Early Childhood education system’ in Islamabad
soon.

The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training joined hands with Tech Valley and Google to scale up the Google for Education pilot program in government schools across Islamabad, she said while talking to a Private news Channel.

She said with the current challenges of Covid-19 faced by students and for the promotion of IT-based education, Federal Directorate of Education, Google and Tech Valley had signed a historic memorandum of understanding (MoU) to transform all schools in Islamabad into ‘Digital School’s.

She said under this project, students would gradually get chrome books and modern gadgets for education learning, adding, paper-free environment in capital would facilitate students for adopting new techniques of education.

She said initially Tech Valley would deploy cloud-based infrastructure-based Google Workspace in 200 schools (male and female) in Islamabad, while Google would provide schools with tools for distance learning and Chromebooks.

She said under this project professional teachers were received level-1 certified training, adding, these teachers would further train other staff as well.

She said Teachers would also train the students regarding the online education and use of gadgets effectively.

Wajiha Akram said after success of this project, the federal government would expand this program for other cities as well.

In the second phase, all teachers will be given virtual training on how to use and utilize these tools.

The initiative of the Federal Ministry of Education is aimed at ensuring the professional development of teachers and students, she added.

Tech valley is providing us an opportunity to demonstrate how Pakistani students and teachers can achieve learning outcomes with Google Workspace for Education’s free suite of tools, she added.

She hoped that government would further include more Google programs and build a long term relationship with Google to work in the digitizing of the education sector not only in Islamabad but elswhere in Pakistan.

She said it is extremely milestone step towards digitize the government education institutes of Islamabad as per the vision of Prime Minister’s Digital Pakistan.
