ISLAMABAD, Feb 18 (APP):The Federal Constitutional Court, while hearing an important case concerning informal settlements (katchi abadis), has directed all relevant federal and provincial departments to submit comprehensive reports containing the latest and complete data on such settlements.
The hearing was conducted on Wednesday by a two-member bench headed by Chief Justice of the Federal Constitutional Court, Justice Ameenuddin Khan.
During the proceedings, the court observed that the provision of accurate and authentic information regarding informal settlements was essential for an effective and fair adjudication of the matter.
It directed all concerned institutions to present updated statistics and progress reports within the stipulated timeframe.
The court adjourned further hearing of the case until the first week of April, instructing that a detailed review of progress would be undertaken in light of the submitted reports at the next hearing.
