FCCP disposes of SPSC recruitment plea, asks parties to raise objections before SHC

ISLAMABAD, Jun 30 (APP): The Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan on Tuesday disposed of a petition related to recruitment by the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC), directing the petitioners to raise all their objections before the Sindh High Court (SHC), where the matter was already pending.
A two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan and Justice Aamer Farooq heard the case.
During the hearing, Justice Aamer Farooq observed that the Sindh High Court had not yet delivered a final judgment in the matter and had only passed an interim order. He noted that the high court’s stay order dated May 14 had not been challenged, while only its June 22 order was under consideration before the Constitutional Bench.
Counsel for the Sindh Public Service Commission, Hafiz Ehsan Khokhar, argued that the Sindh High Court had summoned the record of the 2024 Public Service Commission examination and had also restrained the commission from conducting interviews of successful candidates, putting their future at risk.
He contended that examining the marking of candidates did not fall within the jurisdiction of the high court and that it had exceeded its authority.
Justice Aamer Farooq remarked that the high court had likely called for the record to examine the matter and said that if the petitioners had any objections to any order or proceedings, they should raise all such issues before the Sindh High Court.
After hearing the arguments, the Constitutional Bench disposed of the Sindh Public Service Commission’s petition.
